CBA Newfoundland & Labrador Welcomes New President and Executive Committee for 2026–27

The Canadian Bar Association Newfoundland and Labrador Branch is pleased to announce its 2026–27 President and Executive Committee effective September 1, 2026.

Megan Reynolds Begins Her Term as President

This year, CBA Newfoundland & Labrador welcomes Megan Reynolds as its new Branch President for the 2026–27 term. She succeeds Eugene Chao, who served with distinction over the past year.

Megan is a partner at Curtis Dawe Lawyers. She was called to the Bar of Newfoundland and Labrador in 2015 and has built a broad litigation and advisory practice representing business, public sector, and private clients. Her work spans corporate and commercial litigation, construction disputes, shareholder and oppression proceedings, insurance and disability matters, administrative law, and judicial reviews. She appears regularly before the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Court of Appeal of Newfoundland and Labrador, and has been involved in leave applications before the Supreme Court of Canada. She has been recognized as a Leading Lawyer to Watch in Corporate-Commercial Litigation by the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory.

Megan also advises domestic and international clients on mining and natural resource matters, including asset acquisitions, option and royalty agreements, and due diligence. From 2019 to 2025, she served as Chair of the Newfoundland and Labrador Mineral Rights Adjudication Board.

As Branch President, she is dedicated to promoting access to justice, supporting the professional development and well-being of lawyers, and advocating on issues affecting the legal profession and the administration of justice.
